This page explains what cookies are, which ones we use on merantiyporc.sbs, and how you can control them. It's written plainly so you can understand it without any technical background.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit. They're stored locally and sent back to the website on your next visit so the site can remember certain things — like whether you've already agreed to the cookie notice, or which language you prefer.

Cookies don't give websites access to your device or personal files. Most are harmless and improve your experience. Some, however, are used for tracking across websites, which is why you have the right to choose which ones you accept.

2. Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

Always On

These cookies are required for the website to function. Without them, basic things like the cookie consent banner wouldn't work. You cannot opt out of these.

Examples: Cookie consent storage (localStorage), session continuity. Duration: Session or up to 1 year.

Analytics Cookies

Help us understand how visitors use our site — which pages are visited most, where people come from, and how long they spend on the site. This helps us improve. We use Google Analytics, configured to anonymise IP addresses.

Examples: _ga, _gid (Google Analytics). Duration: Up to 2 years.

Marketing Cookies

Used to track visits across websites and show relevant advertising. We currently use these only if running paid campaigns. They are off by default if you choose to manage preferences.

Examples: Facebook Pixel, Google Ads. Duration: Up to 90 days.

Preference Cookies

Remember settings you've chosen — such as your language preference or whether you've dismissed a notice. These improve convenience on return visits.

Examples: Language selection, UI preference flags. Duration: Up to 1 year.

3. Manage Your Cookie Preferences

These last only as long as your browser is open. When you close the browser, session cookies are deleted automatically.

Persistent Cookies

These remain on your device for a set period — typically between 90 days and 2 years depending on the type — or until you delete them manually.
